Car Air Filter Replacement

This playbook guides you through the steps required to replace the air filter in your car. This process is crucial for maintaining optimal engine performance and longevity.

Step 1: Preparation

Gather all necessary tools and the replacement air filter. Make sure your vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off and cool.

Step 2: Locate

Open the car's hood and locate the air filter housing. It's usually a black plastic box situated on top of or to the side of the engine.

Step 3: Remove Housing

Release the clips or screws that secure the air filter housing. Carefully lift the cover to expose the air filter.

Step 4: Remove Filter

Take out the old air filter. Note its orientation so you can properly install the new one.

Step 5: Clean Housing

With the old filter removed, use a damp cloth to clean any debris inside the air filter housing.

Step 6: Install New Filter

Place the new air filter into the housing with the correct orientation. Ensure it fits snugly without any gaps around the edges.

Step 7: Replace Housing

Reattach the air filter housing cover, securing it with the clips or screws you previously removed.

Double-check that everything is secure and properly in place. Look for any tools you may have left in the engine bay and remove them.
