Once the pieces are correctly assembled, use a suitable wood glue to affix them to the substrate. Apply even pressure across the design with clamps or weights to ensure a firm bond without gaps or raised edges.

After the glue has dried, carefully sand the surface of the marquetry to create a smooth finish. Apply a protective coat of lacquer, varnish, or oil, following manufacturer recommendations for the best result. Allow adequate drying time before handling.

Inspect the piece for any imperfections or missed details. The final work should be cohesive, with all parts securely attached, and the surface should be smooth to the touch.
