3D Integration with Adobe Dimension
This playbook describes the steps to incorporate 3D elements into graphic designs using Adobe Dimension. It guides through the process of creating more dynamic and visually striking compositions by harnessing the capability of 3D design within a graphic design workflow.
Step 1: Install Software
Install Adobe Dimension on your computer by downloading it from the Adobe Creative Cloud website or through the Creative Cloud application. Ensure that your system meets the necessary requirements for the software to run smoothly.
Step 2: Explore Interface
Familiarize yourself with the Adobe Dimension interface. Locate the tools panel, properties panel, asset library, and the workspace. Understanding these areas is crucial for an efficient design process.
Step 3: Import Assets
Begin your project by importing 2D and 3D assets. Use the assets library to choose from pre-made models, or import your own by clicking the 'Import' button for custom 3D models and images.
Step 4: Arrange Elements
Position your 3D models within the scene. Use the move, scale, and rotate tools to adjust the models, ensuring they complement the other elements of your design.
Step 5: Apply Materials
Select your 3D object and apply materials to it. Experiment with different textures and finishes to achieve the desired look for your design by dragging and dropping materials from the assets panel onto your object.
Step 6: Adjust Lighting
Fine-tune the lighting in your scene for realistic effects. You can choose an environment light from the asset library or create custom lighting settings to enhance the mood and dimensionality of your composition.
Step 7: Incorporate Graphics
Apply 2D graphics onto your 3D objects by selecting the object and using the 'Decal' function. Position, scale, and adjust the graphic to wrap around your 3D model flawlessly.
Step 8: Render Scene
Once your composition is set, proceed to rendering your scene. Adjust the quality settings for your final output and click on the 'Render' button. Wait for the rendering process to complete.
Step 9: Export and Integrate
Export the rendered image from Adobe Dimension. Integrate the 3D design into your larger graphic design project using other Adobe Creative Cloud tools like Photoshop or Illustrator as needed.
