Place the storage tanks or barrels on a stable, level foundation near the collection points. Ensure the foundation can support the full weight of the tanks when filled with water.
Step 5: Piping
Connect the downspouts to the tanks using appropriate piping. Ensure all connections are secure and watertight to avoid leaks and water loss.
Step 6: Overflow Setup
Install an overflow valve at the top of the storage tanks to allow excess water to be redirected away from the foundation of the house.
Step 7: Water Access
Set up a tap or a pump system to access the water from the tanks. Consider adding a filtration or purification system if the water will be used for indoor purposes.
Step 8: Final Inspection
Inspect the rainwater harvesting system for any leaks or issues. Test the flow of water through the system to ensure functionality.
